Technical Services
Protein ID: Identification of proteins in a biological sample based on matching of peptide fragments from tryptic digestion to those in a database of known fragments.
Molecular Weight Determination: Analysis of samples to determine the identity of species present based on the mass observed.
HPLC Fraction MS analysis: Analysis of fractions obtained from HPLC purification to determine which contain the desired compound and how pure it is (requires less staff time than the molecular weight determination as the desired mass is known).
LC-MS: Analysis of a sample by chromatographic separation and mass analysis. It can be used to analyze complex mixtures of peptides or proteins or for purity determination.
HPLC: Large scale purification of synthesized peptides based on chromatographic separation. HPLC be carried out by Chemistry Core staff or by IBNAM members (after training).
Peptide Synthesis: Synthesis of peptides by the automated step-wise addition of amino acids in the desired sequence. The synthesis can also be carried out manually by Chemistry Core staff or by individual users.
Lyophilizer Technical Assistance: Chemistry Core staff can assist users by preparing and loading samples onto the lyophilizers for freeze-drying.
