Dean Ho develops novel translational nanotechnologies with a focus on innovative platform approaches to the delivery of chemical, diagnostic, and gene therapies for cancer, inflammation, and infection among others. At the forefront of these platform technologies are nanodiamonds, a versatile class of nanomaterial that can be manipulated to form nanodiamond-drug complexes that possess enhanced therapeutic efficacy. Additionally, nanodiamonds are inherently biocompatible and easily scalable which allows for rapid translation to clinical applications. These integrated nanodiamond systems have demonstrated controlled release of potent chemotherapies across multiple classes of cancers, which will ultimately minimize patient complications while maximizing therapeutic potency. |
